The quality of the fabrics and interesting colour combinations were instantly appealing.
The Tahiti/Hibiscus fabric particularly caught my eye with the beautiful orange/rust florals set against a silvery/grey-toned basecloth. There is also a fantastic co-ordinating stripe Bora Bora.
I am really partial to the chartreuse colour these days, and this has been combined with a deep purple in the Tahiti Sarong fabric, making a cheerful, bold statement.
Ikat patterns also featured extensively, as did a range of classic, 50's inspired masculine tweeds, checks and paisleys that have been inspired by the 'Mad Men' series - perfect for a male 'den' or the aged library look.
It's not easy to achieve an elegant, classical look that can still appear fresh and contemporary - but with this new range of velvets and paisleys with a soft sheen, it is possible.
It was a pleasure to see such relaxed refinement and European quality.
Nice post Pauline!!
